I’m currently trading live with HVMM. I’ve back tested about 200 days in order to establish my trading plan. It was pretty painful as I hate detail work, but I decided I would do it right this time. The back testing was an incredible experience. Not only did it help me learn the system and establish my trading plan, it highlighted some of the psychological issues we face as traders.
A few weeks ago, I actually boxed up HVMM to send it back as I realized I need to quit jumping from system to system. I had finally realized the system was not the problem, I was. Well, I decided I at least should do a quick back test to give it a chance, and prove it’s no better than any of the other 4 system I have dabbled with.
As I went through the month of Jan 09, I was getting frustrated at all of the losses, and thinking it was a waste of time, and wondered how a person could even make money with HVMM. I thought this must be like some of those systems that the person selling it can make money like crazy with it because of the discretionary element, but it is difficult for anyone else without similar experience.
The end result was a win rate of only 0.58…. but had produced a profit of $2930/contract with a profit factor of 2.23! I was blown away. As I continued to back test more months, I once again had a difficulty with the large number of losses but the more I went through the easier it was to handle them, so it was a great exercise.
Not all the months were as profitable as JAN 09. I found that I would have 1-2 days each month with lots of losing trades. I made a fairly major “tweak” to the rules, which eliminated about 75% of these losing trades. Also, using the power of quitting, I would quit the day with 2 wins but on these losing days, would have up to 6 losing trades. So as part of my trading plan I take each qualified trade from 0930-1100.
Anyways, that’s a bit of background to where I’m at. I should be pretty easy to coach as I have very motivated and easy to teach. The most valuable to me will be to have someone to bounce off my ideas and the direction I am going.

I want to thank all the staff of Net Picks for creating the HVMM. But even more, I want to thank the staff for all the support and words of encouragement assisting clients in learning what it truly takes to become a professional trader. This is no easy task. We all struggle in our trading life to overcome our emotions of fear and greed. By the HVMM system, I have in my hand a proven statistical edge to realize profitable opportunities. But worth so much more than just having the system delivered to you to fight your own psychological battle is the coaching staff is there for you, giving guidance and words of encouragement to do the work necessary to succeed in your personal goals. Of all the myriad trading systems on the market, I’m truly grateful that I found HVMM and Netpicks!
Prior to purchasing the HVMM, I was spending countless hours and many worthwhile informational programs looking for the tools to develop my own system. I’ve been trading for about 10 years with mixed success. From beginning in the Futures market with just enough knowledge to be like the errant child running with scissors. I would make a good trade or two and then become over-confident and wind up giving back all my profits plus large chuncks of my trading account. I walked away several years ago after getting caught up in an Orange juice position, heavily leaveraged that went limit down for three days in a row. Calls from my broker to send more money. That was a very painful lesson. It took a couple of years to heal from that one. But I always knew that trading for a living was something I wanted to do. I came back to the market with fear lurking in the back of my mind. This was when gold first started it’s bullish march from $300. Again, without enough knowledge, I tried indicator after indicator. Would jump in and out of positions at the first sign it my turn against me. Spent countless hours in front of computer screen with a dozen indicators below the price action. This one shows it’s over-bought, this one shows it’s soon to be over-sold. Would make small, inconsistent gains followed by small inconsistent losses. The broker was loving me, as I was in and out of market so often.
Now I’m consistently pulling profits from market. These are not huge profits yet, but they are consistent.
There is work to be done on each market I am trading and want to trade. The tools given to me by the coaches and training material have laid out a clear path they consistently follow and are there to answer my questions in a consise manner. Backtesting is showing me the right times to trade and the right method for each market. I’m seeing the time frames that are most consistent are profitable around 70% of the time! That’s an edge on the market that truly inspires confidence to put on the trades. The risk management philosophy the coaches drill into your head in the live training rooms and instruction disc materials can keep your investment capital safe to keep you trading through drawdowns that are inevitible if you trade often. The other resources the coaches recommend are invaluable. One that means a lot is to read and potentially re-read the Mark Douglas book “Trading in the Zone”. Buy it and read it now if you dream of trading for a living! Psychology is 80% of the trading game. The HVMM can give you a 70% successful edge in the market, but if you can’t make yourself execute the trade as your plan indicates, this won’t be your result. But, if you do execute the trading plan correct based on the back testing model and rules you’ve elected to follow from HVMM. You’ll see a steady increase in your equity curve. That’s what it’s all about, seeing your account balance rise. Knowing how much risk to expose yourself to in each trade. Having the confidence to execute that trade means more than you might currently think, but it’s invaluable!
I now look to my future with trading with optimism and know that I will be able to eventually make enough on a consistant basis to walk away from my normal job in favor of the career trading that I’ve dreamed about my entire adult life.
If you’re on the fence for whatever reason about buying yet another trading system, know that for me this is the last system I’ll ever need.

Dear HVMM Staff,
Really don’t know where to begin. I have been down and out for sometime now. Off and on sleeping in the car and where ever I can find. Thanks to some great friends, always a couch or floor was available. Risk and opportunity taker at heart, when I saw the HVMM intro webinar I was calling friends to borrow a credit card within the first half hour of the webinar. I was hooked.
At the time I was working from job to job just a couple of nights a weeks. I was a performer (Greek Dancer). I enjoyed immensley, but there wasn’t too much work and the commute was 1 hour each way. Needless to say, HVMM came around and I grabbed it. Paper traded for first month to 5 weeks. I finally started live in November. I borrowed $4,000 from a friend to fund an account and now was into her for about $7,000 (HVMM + Account). Never panicked, never worried, just followed the system, and what a system. As of December 7,2009, my account went from $4,000 to over $13,000. 225% in 6 weeks. I traded the crude oil contract, (fast, but fun). I can finally start seeing a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s all thanks to you guys at HVMM. I’ve put a few links to show you what I used to do for a living. I’ve been trading a long time, but I’ve never had a month without a losing day. September, 2009 will go down as my personal best ever trading month. As you probably read in a prior update, I’ve been showing you results in one live market, starting with a single contract and following the High Velocity Market Master/HVMM trading plan for this market. In this case, I’m using Crude Oil. I chose that market since it trades quickly, and as we’ve discussed before, I have a very limited window of time I can trade with the obligations of NetPicks and another internet e-commerce business. This market isn’t right for everyone, there are many other potential choices that could be a better fit for you so don’t get hung up on the specific market choice here.
It’s always important that you pick markets that match your risk tolerance, but also ones that fit your schedule. So, here we are on the last day of the month and as you’ll see below, every trading day ended positive. That’s 20 straight days of profitable trading. And, over the last two months I’ve had 28 of 30 sessions end positive (93%). Personally I’ve never seen such consistency. Nor do I expect that I should grow complacent and expect this every month. It won’t happen. However, the simple fact that the HVMM “CAN” pull results like this should be enough inspiration/motivation for all of us.
Without a doubt, there were sessions I started negative, sometimes 2 or even 3 negatives in a row before I traded myself positive. Other days (like today)? I was 2 wins and done before I could blink. Some days were an epic battle, many were fairly simple. The times that I didn’t stick to my key level adjustments, or respect the news many times were the days I made life harder on myself. Or the days I simply made an error from too many outside distractions. Despite this, the performance was strong enough to make up for my mistakes. And, when I made an error, or errors, I came back the next day determined not to let it happen again. Here’s the snapshot of “The Streak” with the HVMM:
In a way, I’m glad the pressure is off to remain perfect. I can start a new month in October without the pressure of being perfect end of day. I have realistic expectations for the month but am going to “up the ante” a bit by rolling to a 2nd contract, and also using a Power of Quitting that I call “+2″ — meaning I want not only 2 wins and a positive result, but I want to have a differential of my win/loss each day of +2. Meaning 2 wins – 1 loss and positive won’t be enough – I want 3-1, 4-2, 5-3, 2-0, etc… It’s more aggressive and maybe I’ll back off that if it ends up being more work for the same result but you should also pay close attention to your trading plan. Review where you’ve been in September and use this new month to make the needed corrections, adjustments and/or updates. I’ll change little, just try to maximize profits a bit more. If I find it isn’t worth the added time invested, I’ll revert to my September plan – which wasn’t a bad one after all
